Where
the devil are my slippers?

Even I'm
not arrogant enough to change the ending of "My Fair Lady",
but I had a few fantasies. The worst of the bunch was to have Eliza
holding the slippers, and when he uttered the famous line have her
raise one up to throw it at him at blackout. The most appealing to me
was to not have her come back at all. Just her voice on the gramophone,
fading with the blackout, on a bitter, lonely man.
